One of our favorite recent projects was a new home we built in Allegan. While we always love creating a new home from the ground up, this home was particularly exciting and challenging because of just how high up the back of the home went. The peak of the home was 30 feet high and, at one point, our team had scaffolding ranging from the bottom of the basement up to the top while they framed it and worked on the ceiling.
Throughout the home, there is natural light aplenty! In the family room, there are over-sized windows that extend to the 30-foot peak creating a wall of windows that overlook the lake. Even in the bathrooms, there is ample natural light over the vanity area. The master bathroom also contains beautiful herringbone tile work in the walk-in shower.
The main floor kitchen opens up to a balcony overlooking the great room and the wall of windows that lead to the lake. The accent backsplash provides a playful look and complements the wood ceiling.
The homeowners used a lot of natural materials – with beautiful wood and stone scattered throughout the home. This is displayed so well in the 21-foot stone fireplace that extends from the great room up into the kitchen balcony. Between the cozy fireplace and the natural light and spacious feeling the over-sized windows provide, this is a home the family will enjoy for years to come.
